Our lashes are effected by many variables like: hormonal, nutrition, environment, etc. As the season changes, our environment does too, unless you are inside all day lashing, but usually our clients are not. So it is our lash duty to prep the client for the change in season. We cover how to tell them, how it affects them and how to help your client through the season change without loosing them as a client. "Why would my lashes change? Just do the same thing." Heads up!!!Start by talking to the client at the beginning of the appointment. How are their lashes doing at the moment? Then transition into "Your lashes will experience a change because the season is changing." Now they may think that is odd, 'why would my lashes change? Just do the same thing you have been doing.' But ultimately it is not up to the lash artist to prevent the lashes from changing, the body will do this naturally. Our body is amazing, it can aclamate to our environment and circumstances. When the sun slowly stops shinning as much in the fall our lashes experience a shed. Our bodies were designed with a purpose, even our small little lashes have a designed purpose to protect our eyes from getting dirt in them and shading our eyes from the sun. So when the sun isn't as bright our lashes say 'Okay we have done our job.' Older lashes naturally fall out and new lashes grow in. Our lashes grow in a growth cycle. Every lash is in a different phase of growth and a lifespan of an eyelash is 3 months, on average. how does this affect your clients?
How to help your clients?
All clients experience the shedding process a little differently, because our bodies react to different things. Since there is a change in weather, you will need to also change your adhesive or change how you work with it. Our next blog post will give tips and insights of how to use your favorite adhesive all year round. AuthorMorgan McGrath is the owner and founder of Ida Jane.
