Fluttery eyes

It can be difficult to work on a client with fluttery eyes. Some clients don’t realize that as they are fluttering their eyes, their eyes are opening often. When a client has their eyes slightly open during an application this can cause an irritation for the client during the appointment. The client may mention they are having a stinging/hurting feeling. This feeling is coming from the fumes of the glue that can be too strong for the eyes. Once the glue cures the fumes dissipate which allows the client to open their eyes at the end of the appointment and not have any stinging. But how do we deal with a client that does not close their eyes completely or a client that is constantly fluttering their eyes?

Find a penny, pick it up and all the day you'll have good luck, with non-flutter eyes. Place a penny with tape on the client's eyelid. The weight from the penny will cause the eyelid to calm down. Though a penny is not very sanitary. Instead of using a penny for weight, use another set of gel pads. Place the gel pads on the client's eyelid. This may also be similar to the next suggestion.

In October, I had a baby girl. When she is struggling to close her eyes because she hears noises around her, or there are lights on, I take her into her room to help her relax for bed time. It is easier to relax in a dark, calm room. When I came a crossed @Zofia_jasinska post about putting black tape on the eyelid, it caused me to reflect on my experience with my little one. While we cannot turn off the lights to work on a client's lashes, we can make it dark for the client. Our eyelid skin is thin and sensitive. The lights we use during our lash appointments can be strong for our client's eyes. Place a black tape on the client's eyelid, protecting them from the light. If this tip does not do the trick it may be best to try the next tip.

I recently came a crossed this great post from @bba.BeautyByAdriana (picture above). She gently glued the client's lash and extension to the gel pad. For this client, it did the trick! The client had no red eye or irritation. It may work for your client, as well. Remember though, after you are done with the application, gently remove the lash extension and natural lash adhered to the gel pad.

Hopefully your client did not come after she was at the gym or after they just drank 3 things of coffee/pop. The gym and coffee can easily cause jumpy/fluttery eyes. It will be hard to slow their body down to relax, enough to keep their eyes closed and possibly take the best lash nap. Sometimes essential oils can help relax the body, mind and spirit, as well as smooth spa music.
Which tip works the best for your fidgety clients?

I place a small piece of paper tape on their eyelid. It feels like a blanket on your eye and very much stops the flutters. I also have a fidget cube and a fidget spinner to keep their hands busy. It really helps!
