Foreign client tipsTo accept foreign fills or to not…? 🤔 that is the real question. 🤪 Recently, I had a new client come to me but they were a foreign fill… When it comes to foreign fills it’s easy to get anxious 😖or be hesitant about taking it on because you never know the previous lash artists work that you are taking on. 😳 And who’s to say the clients natural lashes aren’t total garbage underneath the previous work… I don’t want to be the one to brake the bad news. Ugh. It’s hard because what if you could be the ✨life changing lash artist for this person. You could be! She probably needs you!💗 Communication is the best way to build a relationship and connection with clients that will keep them coming for years, without them becoming no shows, canceling last minute or showing up late. 1. When you have a new client book with you, call them. Introduce yourself, ask a few questions on their past experiences with lashes and what they would like to see moving forward with you. This gives you understanding of the client, lets you see if she is in fact your ideal client, and allows you to set up the expectations for your up coming appointment(s) (that might be difficult). 2. Foreign fills can be difficult so allow enough time to inspect her natural lashes and extensions. For me, I love having the client come for a free consultation or free removal. Then I schedule them for a full set. But not all clients love to do this process, so I have to allow enough time for a difficult foreign fill. And be prepared to say the hard things, if needed. 3. Over deliver as much as possible. This doesn't mean create the biggest lashes. This means create the most incredible experience for the client as possible. Create ways that the experience for the client will be unmatched by other lash companies in your area. IF the lashes don't turn out as she expected, or even how you expected, then at least we gave her the best experience possible, that will hopefully have her returning so that we can get her lashes to a desired point at the next appointment(s).
As always don't forget to over communicate what you expect, If the client has weak lashes or damage, then share that with her, show her pictures and explain the process of why she won't have her desired look until 3 appointments from now. After the appointment is finished recommend to your client, when you would like to see them next and try to schedule it. By scheduling it before she leaves, hopefully it made it easy for her to scheduled that next appointment with you, she felt taken care of by you, and she knows that you want to see her again. Hope these tips help in your next foreign fill or new client procedure. So I’m curious, do you accept foreign fills? If so, what’s your policy or procedure around it? 💁🏼♀️
