Diy branding kit

Is your lash company a brand? Are you wanting more confidence in knowing your brand and how to use it to communicate and attract potential lash clients?
Do you want your lash business to look branded and on point?
When I first started out I wanted my lash business to look so cute and professional. Yet I had no idea how to make it happen. I would google how to create a brand but everything I was finding wasn’t helping me solve or curate exactly what I was wanting my brand to be/become.

Over the past 8 years I have finally figured out what Ida Jane is as a brand. It was a long journey for me to figure out and truly get to a place where I was like “Awh! Yes!!! This is Ida Jane, the Brand. I love it!” Knowing Ida Jane as a brand gave me direction. I now know what fonts to use, consistent colors to choose from, who my ideal client is and how I can best help them. This gave me a clear path on how to speak to my ideal client and reach their needs. No more guessing what to say or being un confident when reaching them via social media, marketing, text, etc.

Being confident in your brand will give you a direction and understanding of who your ideal client is, plus, how to speak with them to solve their problems. I want you to be confident in your business because it will help you grow as a business and in turn will help clients with their problems as well. No more guessing what to post or what caption to say.
When I first started my lash business, I had no idea what it took to create an actual business. Business things like, branding, ideal client, marketing, etc. I’m not sure what is more important knowing your branding or knowing your ideal client. They definitely go hand in hand though. I would highly recommend to know your ideal clientele before diving deeper into your brand. When you know everything about your ideal client then you can create your brand to speak and connect to them.

The reason you would want to create a brand is so a client can easily identify your brand, and feel a connection with the brand. If connections are made the potential client becomes more comfortable and inclined to choose the comfortable brand they know and trust than a brand that’s spuratic.
Let’s talk about branding and key elements to know about your branding or finding your branding.

  1. Business name. Choosing a business name can be challenging and can take a while. It’s okay to try a few on and see if you like it and if it’s the one. It’s also okay to change it later and rebrand. Rebranding can be expensive though.
  2. Logo. Once you have figured out your brand name, think about a logo. A logo can come in many forms. Ida Jane has 2 types of logos. We have the Ida Jane script logo, and the gold circle logo with the I and J inside of it. Inside the branding kit we have very descriptive ways to put the script and logo next to each other or by themselves.
  3. Fonts. Heading, subheading, accent script. Fonts have an emotional feel and impact for your reader. You want to make sure the font is accurately representing your brand. You can find paired fonts on Canva, Pinterest or purchase font on Etsy, etc.
  4. Colors. Colors can play an emotional and subconscious feeling. You may be drawn to certain colors and repel others. To determine colors for your brand you can go to coolors.co. It’s extremely fun to play around on the pallets on a laptop or in the app.
  5. Pillars. What are the core beliefs of your business? This will help determine the personality of your brand. Mine are: lash education, sisterhood, lash products, me and inspiration/boss babe. Typically a brand will have 4 pillars, like 4 pillars of a house.
  6. Tone. How do you want your customers to feel when they interact with your brand? For me I want: girlie, fun and informative.
  7. Ideal client. It’s important to know everything about your ideal client, so you can truly speak to them and create a connection. When you are speaking to everyone, meaning you don’t have an ideal client, then you are speaking to no one. For example when you speak in general terms about your company being able to help everyone, one person doesn’t feel a strong connection. The one will mostly likely move to a company they feel drawn to or a connection with, instead of the generic brand. So dive deep and find out every detail about your ideal client and make sure your brand will connect with them. These should go hand in hand.
Being confident in your brand can give you the confidence to sell. Your brand is awesome! You need to share it with others.
