Are you a slouChy Lash artist? My client told me “Wow, you dressed up today!” My response at the time was, “hah yeah. I finally did my hair and got out of my comfy clothes.”
For months, I had been seeing clients while wearing sweatpants and comfy shirts or leftover workout clothes. I mean there were even times when I literally got out of bed minutes before my client showed up. (Iykyk). Perks to being a home lash studio. Hah To me, this was totally OK. I was dressed and not butt naked. What more could you ask for?! Hah How I dressed didn’t affect anyone or anything, so I thought back then. My clients literally just needed somebody to do their lashes. They did not need somebody who looked good as well. But… Does dressing up mean more money? Have you ever wanted to do something but then decided not to because you didn’t want to get dressed, do your hair or put makeup on to accomplish the thing? For example, I wanted to share some lash tips in a video but decided my esthetics weren’t up to my standards. My lack of getting ready was not allowing me to show up as my best self physically, emotionally and mentally to accomplish the goals I’d like to achieve. Sure, you may be thinking that is vain of me to think I have to get ready in order to show up for other people. No. For me, it’s showing up as my best self, for myself, not anyone else. Have you ever gotten super dolled up and felt like you could tackle the world? Or worn a very expensive item and felt like you were a million bucks? Maybe subconsciously we are putting out an energy into the world and the world is giving you the same energy back. The more we put ourselves out there, the more we will receive. “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.” Hockey Hall of Famer, Wayne Gretzky I mean let’s think about it… I’m trying to set goals for the new year, I’m wanting to reach higher dollar points in my business. Does dressing successful and with intention help me get to my dollar goals? “Dress for the job you want.” What are my intentions with my business? I want to grow and be successful. Success includes a certain dollar amount for me. I started thinking… what would my million dollar self look like? How would I be showing up in the world? I challenge you to truly think about this question. What would she look like? What would she be doing, etc.? “It’s just as easy to put a dress on, as it is sweats.” I remember thinking in my college days, doing lashes out of my apartment, that I always wanted to be the cute girl with cute style and clothing. So I made the decision to donate a lot of my sweat pants and comfy clothes. Then that way all I had were cute clothes to put on, and no matter what I chose to wear, I would still look cute. I set the intention and created the action plan by donating the comfy/slouchy clothes. In return, I enjoyed the cuteness, felt better about myself(regardless of what anybody else thought) and showed up for myself. When I am dressed and looking cute I’m motivated to actually show my face on Instagram stories and give tips. But when my brows and hair aren’t done then I usually/always never show up on stories. Here’s to throwing out the sweats and putting on the fancy dresses to show who you are and show up for yourself! (You don’t need to do dresses if that’s not you, your best you… don’t get lazy and result to easy. Dresses or whatever nice clothes you decide, can be comfy too!) You get to decide how you show up in the world. Let’s make it fun! Fancy! And YOU! Your BEST YOU! Let’s set those big dream goals together! And maybe those goals start with throwing out the sweat pants so they’re not even an option. If we take care for ourselves we can show up for others! Hah and maybe the money will show up for you too! What are your thoughts? Have you ever dressed up and felt like 🔥🔥🤑? Or… Felt like not doing something because your lack of getting ready for a successful day? Do you read blogs for thought provoking ideas and to grow? This blog was inspired by a podcast I recently fell in love with. It’s called The Life School Podcast.
